Busy?

you would think..... sorry for my lack of posts.
I would say we have been busy but doing what, I can't really say.
A lot has happened since our last post.
Roe had another endoscopy, the results that came back were the best we could have hoped for.
Zero eosinophils, meaning his disease is in remission.
HUGE PRAISE GOD.
We were able to take him off the steroid and will begin trialing foods in 4 months (end of March).
We are doing so well and looking forward to Christmas... just around the corner.

a few pics of the last month
rainy day painting
I have been doing watercolors with my home school family, the boys have been going crazy to play with all the paint brushes (and paints)... I am not about to let them dig in to my $40 set of watercolors but we had fun painting the back of cereal boxes with water.

Roe was invited to his first Jags game with daddy

please excuse the mess we had a "Black Friday Garage Sale"
anyways,
Roe was a champ, and has turned out to be a huge fan, he happily stayed the whole game and Ted reported he even watched more than half of it!

Well, he definitely has more of his father in him.
And lastly we said goodbye to some good friends
:(
Wade, Courtney and Baby Marshall left today for DC.
Wade has a great job at the US Chamber of Commerce.

We will miss you guys.

Happy Halloween 2011

We had a very fun Halloween this year.
A few weeks ago I asked the kids what they wanted to dress up as, Kirby wanted to be a ninja and Roe said he wanted to be a clown.
Originally I had planned to make both costumes, I got the pattern for the clown costume and raided my mom's fabric scraps to make Roe's costume.  I spent probably 4.5 hours on a pattern that said
 "easy only takes 2 hours"
When I had the finished product, I could hardly wait to show Roe.
He LOVED it............................... until he saw himself in the mirror.

"Me not want to be clown, me want to be ninja"

what?!?!?!?

Here is Kirby in the size 2 clown costume, I couldn't get roe to put it back on :(

Roe did not get to be a ninja, I gave him the choice of something we already had, and after spending an entire afternoon making the clown, we bought the ninja.

Roe (the golfer) and Kirby (the ninja) at the St. Marks costume parade

We went to a Halloween/1st birthday party at the Moore's house, and got to trick-or-treat with all the usual suspects

Lucky for us Roe had absolutely no interest in trick-or-treating.
Baba gave him a box of raisins, and he thought he had won the jack pot!

Funny pumpkin at this house
and they had jello-shots

We wound down with a laser light show in the bath tub
super fun

Pumpkin time

The pumpkin patch is here and like every year at this time, it is one of our favorite fall activities to go look at all the different shapes, colors and textures of pumpkins at the pumpkin patch.
I took the boys after Sunday School  yesterday and let them run around for a while.
I have never seen pumpkins so big as the ones this year.  We saw a family who brought their wagon just to haul their pumpkin to the front to pay!

Crazy brothers

Sunday afternoon we were invited to the annual pumpkin carving party at Karen and Chris' house

Big Boys

These guys are growing up fast.
Kirby went on his first sleep-over last weekend, which was actually a camping adventure.
A father/son camping trip that Kirby got invited to.
It was all the way in Fleming Island, so we were a little nervous that we may receive THE CALL that we needed to go pick him up.
Instead the other mom got the call at 11:30 to come pick up all three boys.  And then they went home and played until............. are you ready for this????
1:30am
Yikes!
He had a great time and didn't even get home the next day until 5:00 because they were having so much fun.

Do these guys look like trouble or what?

haha
In other news:
Since we have a new baby in the family Roe is on a little bit of a time crunch to move to his big boy bed.
He has done very well this week taking his naps in there.

He just looks like a big boy in that bed!

Planting vegetables!

Ted finally agreed to let us plant a vegetable garden. We choose a nice sunny spot in the side yard and spent two days digging and cutting all the grass, roots, and weeds out.
The boys are eager to start planting all the veggies we picked out.

These pictures are from when we just started... it has come a long way!  Don't worry, more pics to come as we progress!

1st day of school

Better late than never....eh?
So, as you can see there was plenty of brotherly love going on , on the first day of school.
Kirby was super proud to be starting Kindergarten..... Roe did not want to be touched.
I loved looking at every one's sweet 1st day of school pics on facebook.
Unfortunately for the Alexanders, this is as good as it gets.

High Hampton 2011

We just got home from another great week at High Hampton.
We all had a wonderful time,  The boys played HARD, Ted was able to play lots of golf and i did lots of relaxing and even managed to read two books.
Now that's what i call a vacation!
Our room assignment got a little mixed up on the day that we arrived so **poor us** we were forced to stay in this beautiful 4 bedroom cabin (with a kitchen) for the first night.
We felt a little spoiled getting to stay there but loved moving a little closer to our friends and all the action.

My very brave 5 year old did sliding rock for the first time all by himself this year. And as you can imagine after going down once he went down again and again!

Roe learned to drive

The famous blue blazer picture

And on th elast day we decided to go fishing and look at this fella that snagged our worm on just the second cast.
Proud dad and boys.

Roe was proud to just scared to stand near our buddy the fish.

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot

We are having a great summer, but just like every year, I wish were spending more time outside. It is HOT around here, and that mixed with afternoon thunderstorms, and attack mosquito's, sometimes it's not so pleasant to be outside.
We have had plenty of play dates,
fun with LEGO'S

Skateboard practice

and silliness

4th of July

We had a fun fourth this year.  We started the day out at the Yacht Club with the Brent's.
Well, John, Anne and Margaret!
It was a ton of fun and we all had to come home after lunch for a nice little nap.

Good idea because we were in for a long night!
We met Baba at Timuquana for dinner around six and stayed all night for fun and fireworks.
The kids had a blast rolling and running down the hill.

We loved getting to see so many of our friends that we haven't seen since school has been out.

Kirby, Tyler and Roe.
These boys haven't see each other on a while, but it didn't take any time to pick up just where they left off.
