Kirby has been begging me for a while now to take him to the fire station. Uncle James told us that we should probably arrive with baked goods. So yesterday Kirby and i made some very patriotic red, white and blue sugar cookies and went to meet some firefighters. Kirby had to sample a cookie on the way there (his third sample). Kirby sliding down the pole for the 100th time, it was a little embarrassing after a while because Kirby wanted to stay and hang out with the firefighters all day. I kept saying " OK buddy, lets let this nice man get back to work" and then he would go ask the guy "what's in there?' and then another 5 minutes of exploring the hoses, axes, boots, helmets, first aid, we even saw the place where the firefighters do their laundry. What a fun visit. We love the Jacksonville Fire Department, Thank you for all you do!

Beach Babies

Last week Roe has his first real "beach day". He LOVED it! I am so excited, some kids don't like the way the sand feels, but not roe-roe. He was happy as a clam.
Our cousin Brynlee was in town from Colorado, we had so much fun playing at the beach with her and her mom Robin!

We had so much fun at the beach last week we decided to go again on Monday when Kirb didn't have school. We drove down to Neptune and met up with Jeanne. It was so much fun, one of the highlights of the morning was this fella. Anyone from the neighborhood probably remembers Charlie (aka Davey Crockett) who used to walk around the neighborhood, i remember in my Publix days he came in everyday and would buy a few things and pay with nickels. Anyways, i haven't seen him in probably 10 years, but there, on the beach, spinning, and spinning, and spinning (like 10 minutes of spinning) was what looked like Charlie.

I don't think it was really him, but, word on the street is that he actually lives in 5pts, and drives out to the beach on a regular basis for his spinning?!? Something to help his equilibrium? Channeling his friends from "Heavens Gate" that left him behind? your guess is as good as mine? I do think it may be a perfect match with that lady from the art market.

Leigh and Carters Wedding

My beautiful cousin Leigh got married last weekend!Kirby was asked to be one of the ring bearers.

These three angels were unbelievable.

I don't think any of us know what to expect.

The wedding was at 8pm. Both Quentin and Virginia Anne go to bed early. Kirby can usually stay up but we needed to be at the church at 6:45 and stayed until 9 doing pictures.

It was a BIG night for all of these kiddos and i am so proud.

oh, and the two that usually go to bed early.......... both made it to the reception :)

These Boys............

I don't know if it's because Roe is here now, but i've been noticing, that there is nothing "baby" about Kirby any more. Not even toddler, he's a real boy. Wow! What happened?

He is growing up so fast, and I wish I could freeze time. I love my "big boy" Kirby, but I just can't stand the thought of him getting any bigger. He is so sweet and sensitive and says the funniest things. He loves Roe so much and is such a big help.

I am so proud of him. Roe is following close behind his big brothers footsteps. He is happy and curious and into everything! Reminding me so much of kirb at this age......... check out this post!

I don't think we will be walking on our first birthday, which is fine, there are reasons I want him to walk and reasons I don't. I think I will just try and enjoy every minute I have of this baby, because before I know it he too will be a BIG BOY and i will be missing these sweet happy days.
