An Explination

I guess i owe all of our friends an explination of where we have been and why you have not been updated with "first day of school" pics and everything else. We have had a crazy few weeks around here, what's new right.
So you know the story of the person who has the "midas touch" and every thing they touch turns to gold? Well this is similar to my story but my midas touch= everything i touch turns expensive. Somehow in the course of a month i have managed to break my camera, my computer, and my kiln. :) Bad luck i guess..... then Kirb got this horrible funk where he had 102-103 temp for 5+ days, on the day he finally started acting himself again, Roe got a fever.
Is this a joke you may ask, no no joke. Just they way things have been around here.
Well, my computer is fixed.... Thanks to Pops (THANKS POPS!!!) and i think i will be getting a new camera shortly. I mean i can't keep all of you guys up with what is happening in our lives without pics.

Bread

So, one unfortunate thing about Roe's allergies is that I have had a

really hard time finding bread that he can eat. It really shouldn't be an issue, bread really should not have dairy or eggs unless it is some special bread, but if you check out the bread selection at the supermarket you will find that all the breads contain SOMETHING that this fella can't eat. So I pulled out my Betty Crocker cookbook and sure enough the "Country Loaf" was perfect for Roe-roe.

step 2

step 3

step 4

And ta-da 4 hours later we have bread.

Honestly it was good the first day, after that........ not so much, it smelled delicious though.

Then i went to the Art Market and found two local bakeries that make fresh bread without all the yuck, i think i may be going that route from now on.

Summer

We have had a very busy and very fun summer, but like most mom's, I am a little glad that it has wrapped up and cooler weather is around the corner.
Things around here have managed to stay busy.

A week at the beach

The week before school started we spent relaxing at the beach.
The boys loved playing in the sand and the ocean.

We made lots of castles, and found lots of sharks teeth.

I managed to get these cute pics before my camera broke. :(

High Hampton 2010

We just got home from another fun week at High Hampton.
The boys had a blast!
Kirby Loved playing with his big boy friends, who he talks about all year long.

Brotherly love
annual walk around the lake

taking a little break from the annual lake walk to play with some Lego's
Roe and Abigail- our AWESOME babysitter who came with us this year

dad and his boys
The Perry/ Neal family
the Alexanders

The famous "blue blazer picture"
7 boys
what a neat family tradition... i think Kirby and roe are the 5th generation to grow up going to High Hampton this exact same week every year. All of these guys have grown up together even though there is a little of a generation gap.
Ted's dad was 16 years older than Glen (4th from right , beside Ted)
Glen is 16 years older than Ted,
Ted is 16 years older than Hunter (Glen's oldest boy on far left)
and Hunter is 16 years older than Kirby.
It's so weird because Kirb and Hunter seem a world apart, but to look at the friendships between Ted and Glen (who was in our wedding) and also Ted and Hunter.... 16 years doesn't seem like any difference.

Sickie

Since Roe's twelve month appointment we have been struggling trying to figure out why he has not been gaining weight and what is wrong.
After SEVERAL visits to the doctors, a few meetings with a nutritionist, and a lot of advise from a wonderful old friend, we FINALLY were able to get an appointment with the allergy doctor.
Praise God!
After just minutes talking to the Allergist and showing him pictures of Roe's strange flare-up's, we were told hat Roe had VERY SERIOUS food allergies.
He was tested immediately and we were prescribed the epipen.
Roe has allergies which will trigger anaphylactic shock if he eats or comes in contact with Milk (all dairy), eggs, and soy.
We have also been advised to stay away from peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish for two years.
This is going to be a huge adjustment for a family who loves cheese, processed foods (which almost always contain soy), and desert.
But, we are so happy to know what is wrong and little Roe Roe seems so much happier now!
Prayers still welcomed!
