Little swimmers

Just like we did with Kirby, we decided to do the ISR swim lessons with Roe.
We just finished week 3 and, even though Roe still Screams his head off the entire time, he is doing just AWESOME!
Day 1
Week 2...... totally floating on his own.
Mrs. Joy, the instructor said that he should be done before the expected 6 weeks, i sure hope so!

Kirby is on the "Jr River Rat's" swim team at TQ.
Week one
Kirby looks a little un-sure of this.

Last Friday at the first big swim meet.
Kirby with his FIRST PLACE RIBBON!
(ok, they all got first place, but i'm still a very proud mama)

Back stroke
Two goofy river rats

I'm not a real competitive person, so you can guess my shock when Kirby was CHALLENGED by another mom saying that her son was planning on beating Kirby in the swim meet.

What?!?!?!

Richard.... you better watch yr back boy! Kirby is gonna show you what's up next week!

haha

A Family Weekend

Last weekend we had a dear friend in town from California. She and her husband were staying at the beach, so we decided to take a little mini vacation out to Sawgrass for a long weekend.
Fun in the pool
Alligator in the lake
I love this place
Roasting marshmellows

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very busy Memorial Day weekend this year.
It all started Thursday with a "Ladies Lunch" to celebrate a beautiful friend.
Mandy is heading to San Francisco, so a few of us girls got together for a going away lunch.
It was a very fun morning with some very dear old friends.
Friday Kirby and Emsley hosted an End of the Year Picnic at Victory Lake.
Kirby, Lucas, and Wallace
Emsley, Blythe, and Suki

Saturday we got to go to the Landing and watch Uncle Reid and his band preform as a part of The Jacksonville Jazz Festival

And Sunday, Baby Margaret was dedicated at Access Church.
Aunt Liz, Dick and Megan ware all in town so it was a very special occasion.

Sunday Funday

We spent another beautiful Sunday afternoon at the lake.
Good times with good friends.
Kirby went wake boarding for the first time of the year and decided he LOVES it!!! He's already ready to try it on his own.
The Stud, "paddling in" after his big ride.
His little fanclub waiting to hear about the ride.
Amy came too!
Kirby and his girls.
We have had a busy couple of weeks since Roe's birthday. At his 1 year check-up we were shocked to hear that our "big" baby is not quite as big as we thought, in fact, he's in the bottom 5% for his age. He has only gained 1 oz since his 9mo. appt. We have been stumped for the past 3 months or so. He seems to have some sort of allergies, which we suspect may be to Dairy. Not really a lactose intolerance but more sinus issues whenever we try to give him anything containing dairy. He has had an ear infection the last week due to the fluids in his head, a result of these allergies, and has just been pathetic. At 1 year the Dr's suggest that you move your baby from breastmilk or formula to whole milk............so we have to go back in June to see if he is gaining weight and discuss seeing an allergist and nutritionist.
Prayers Welcome :)

A fun visit

This week we had a wonderful visit from Sierra. She had some time off and stayed with us for two nights! We had a great time catching up and hearing all the details of her upcoming wedding, and her new place in ATL. We all hated to see her go. Ted, Seirra and I had LOTS of fun times together in Gainesville. Whenever she comes to visit it's the 3 Amigos reunited.

Man's Best Friend

Yesterday was a tough day. Anyone who reads this blog and knows our family knows just how much Gator means, and has meant to Ted over the years.
They have been through a lot together. From the pound in Lynchburg Va, Gator has been by Ted's side for the last 15 years.
Multiple homes, roomates, girlfriends, vacations, children, through victories (3 national champoinships) and sadness.

Birthday Boy

I can't believe Roe is already 1!

We had a fun family bbq in the back yard to celebrate the big day. Baby Margaret stole the show!

Happy Birthday big boy!
