A Rainy Wedding Weekend

Ted and I were so fortunate to get to spend a nice long weekend in Cashiers for a good friends wedding. I wish I had taken pictures of EVERYTHING but, my camera is a little bulky to be carrying around in the rain, but i was sure to get pics at the actual wedding.
There were i guess about 100 people invited to the wedding which took place at the Summer Chapel, an old school house.
Some people had to sit outside because the inside was so small. Lucky for me Linda was there with us, and had us leave an hour early so we were able to sit inside.
I think my favorite part of the service was the very sweet country hymns complete with banjo and mandolin.

Claire and Kiley
Her dress was so cool! If you know Claire you wouldn't expect anything less.
Saint and Maria, 2 1/2 weeks after having a baby....... what a champ, traveled from Alexandria VA with a 1 year old and 2 week old to be a part of her best friends special day.

Roe's Baptism

Sunday Roe was baptised at St Marks. It was a beautiful service and we loved that we were able to share this special occasion with family and friends. We were encouraged to take pictures during the service but without flash, so sorry for the bad quality of the church pictures.

Roe with god mama Bree during the service, David holding his baptismal candle.

Roe was asleep until he had cold water poured on his head.
I wish I had a better picture of the christening gown, it is over 100 years old and i believe was worn by Linda's father (or Grandfather)
It is Beautiful.
Roe looked like and Angel, and acted like one too.
We have been kinda laughing all weekend remembering Kirby's baptism.
The woman practically drowned Kirbs with the holy water, everyone was horrified. We ripped the million year old gown as we tried to take it off him because it was stuck to his skin. Now, looking back maybe kirb needed a little extra holy water. :)
Daddy with the godparents
Baba with Missy and Uncle Wiley ( Kirby's Godfather)
Amy and Mitch came to share this very special occasion
Thank you to everyone that came and was such a special part of Roe's day.
On another note, I have been anxiously awaiting the go-ahead to make the announcement that I AM GOING TO BE AN AUNT!
We are all so excited that John and Anne will be having a little one in March. We love spring babies :) Anyways, if you know John and Anne check out all the happy news about our little cousin "baby Brent" here!

Mr Turtle

In the middle of the rainstorm on saturday we looked out our window, and there in our driveway was this little fella. No idea where he may have come from, and poor guy only had three legs.
So, "operation turtle rescue" went in to full swing immediatley!. Daddy picked up the little guy and put him in a box, and he and
kirb went and put him in the creek.

he just this week did his first roll and hasn't stopped trying to go over and over

OK, on this one he's getting a little help from big brother, only because i sat there with the camera for like 20 minutes trying
to document the roll.

Labor day 2009

We had a wonderful beachy weekend to end the summer. Baby Roe was ready for some fun and Kirby was ready to hang with all his friends.
Lee was excited not to be the baby anymore.
I don't know how to explain this one, somehow Roe was involved in a late night card game.
Looks like he may have had a good card Sweet lee
Kirby looking at the big boys surfing.
Jakers
"deep thoughts" with Todd Nussbaum
I have come to realize that "be Gentle" means nothing to boys. It doesn't work on kirb (although he tries), and sweet Jacob REALLY wanted to push roe in his swing. He almost got pushed off the porch.
Pool Time!
Morgan after soaking up some rays.
Kirby is really swimming awesome, he doesn't do the flip on his back anymore, which kinda concerned me at first. But he's just a little fish. No fear! I loved watching him and Ted play.
Cutie cute
Beach Time.
Roe staying out of the sun in his girl Morgans' beach tent. the breeze was great and he loved watching the big boys play

An evening walk on the beach.

Hopefully when i am ready to go back to work, this classroom will looking for a happy art teacher to fill it:) or i was also thinking i would be an excellent cake decorator. The beach

Uncle Reid and Anna were in town last weekend and we got to go to Amelia Island to see them. It was Roe's first official beach experience since the last time we did the beach he was only a few weeks old.
