A pretty day

Today was a beautiful day and Shelly and I decided to take the kids to the park in San Marco for a change of scene. There is a REALLY high slide there that Emsley was a pro at, Kirby on the other hand took a little time to get used to the idea. But once he got going there was no stopping him.

Although he looks quite confident in the idea of going down head first, Shelly had to climb up the slide and help him down.

After playing for a bit we drove around San Marco and found a nice sunny spot at Hendricks for a picnic, the kiddos found another playground...... so much for the picnic.

Valentine Party

I helped out wth the valentine party in kirby's class on thursday. I didn't get many good shots but here are a few.

Tumbling

So we signed Kirby up for tumbling, i know, not the most manly sport in the world but he's good at summersaults and it's something to do between now and next year when he is old enough to do t-ball or soccer. It is a boys only class ages 2.5 to 3.5. Kirby hasn't quite gotten into the swing of things he's still a little, shy at the beginning of class and begins to warm up to it as the time goes on..... when i say shy..... he pretends he's a dog. It's a little hysterical and a bit embarrassing, to see him crawling on the ground barking, when everyone else is standing in line and following directions. Here are a few shots of him actually participating........ oh, and they are the only pics you will see of Kirby in tumbling because i almost got my camera confiscated. NO PICTURES unless you are at competition... don't think we will be making it to competition, unless they have a ribbon for best puppy impersonator.

Winter 2009 and some updates

2009 has gotten off to a great start, we have been doing lots of playing in the backyard on the new playground that Baba got Kirby for Christmas.
Here are some pics of Kirbs playing Football and baseball.
Go Gators!
I haven't actually made any sort of Blog announcement and I think everyone already knows but Kirby is going to be a big brother this spring. We are expecting a second little boy at the end of April, and welcome all of your prayers as we get ready for a second.

Dew's Island

We brought in the new year ths year with Bree, David, Baby Lee, Ryan, Melissa and Matt at the ringhavers hunting prpoerty in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was FREEZING (like in the 20's), but the boys had a great time hunting and the girls had a great time shopping and playing with the little ones.

Kirby driving the Golf cart

Kirby with his new best friend Melissa, who he bugged the entire plane ride home.... gave mommy a litttle break though :)

Kirby's favorite gifts were a new train table for his "big boy" room, tools and a baseball glove

Christmas morning we all went to Baba's for Christmas Brunch.
Kirby loved playing with his cousin Phoebe.
testing the water temp
Christmas swimming.
WE LOVE JACKSONVILLE!

At the begining of December Kirby joined mom and Gigi on our annual trip to Jekyll Island. With another little Alexander on the way Kirb may have to stay home with daddy and Pops next year. As usual we have a fabulous time, we stay at the Jekyll island club which is just beautiful and has a wonderful history.Kirby and Gigi hanging on the dock..... it was FREEEZZZIIING
Tree Climbing

View from our porch of the main building
Kirby made some friends while we were there

Another friend??? in period costume, we have no idea what this guy was doing, you don't usually see people walking around the premisis dressed like soldiers..... but kirby loved it.
One super cool thing that we did was go to the Sea Turtle center which was really cool, we saw one sea turtle get some x-rays

We walked around the recovery center and saw lots of different kinds of turtles being nursed back to health

Thank you Pops for another wonderful trip!

Shamu

For some reason the shamu pics wouldn't download in the last post, so here they are.
Kirby loved it! he couldn't take his eyes off the show.

Sea World

We took a family trip down to Orlando this week.
Our first stop was Downtown Disney, Kirby loved the kid rides.
We all loved Lego land.
(We took these pics for our friend Warner)

After a fun night we got some ice cream at the Ghiradelli store. Yum!
The next morning we were up early ready to spend the day at Sea World
Kirby and mom on the scary ride that took you up 300+ feet to see the entire Sea World.

Check out the squirrel looking for some snacks in Kirby's stroller.

Kirby was totally mesmerized by this speaker which had the voice of a little kid singing.
