Charleston

Since i was thirteen my mom and i have done an annual trip up to Jekyll Island GA to do some Christmas shopping, get in the holiday spirit and just have some quality time. Last year i was pregnant at Jekyll and we talked about how we may manage to do our fabulous trip with a little one, and also the possibility that Kirby may still be in the mix.
After much deliberation we decided to include Kirbs one more year but choose a destination that was a little more child friendly.
If anyone is looking for a great trip for a family with kids, we have figured it out!
We decided on a mid week trip which was great we left Sunday and headed up to Charleston.
We spent all day Monday touring the grounds of the plantation, Which is huge! There are people dressed in period costume and all sorts of livestock just like a working plantation.

It was FREEZING and kirby managed to fall into a pond with his only shoes on. So we had to go shoe shopping........ lucky Kirbs

Gigi needing a rest.......... and the vacation has only begun :P

Our Room at Middleton InnSo on Tuesday Gigi had to make a quick trip to the outlet mall and you wouldn't believe what was next door.......... The Fire Fighter Museum. I have to admit it was Awesome!!!!
I don't know who liked it more me or Kirbs.
They had a real fire truck that they had taken apart and made into a simulator... I couldn't get Kirby out of it!
EVERYTHING was hands on, which we like.
Kirby and Roe watching a show about the dangers around the house that could cause a fire.
So.... Kirbs is asking for a fire extinguisher for Christmas, oh and a hose and an Ax.
I told him that you can't really use a fire extinguisher unless there is an actual fire, he is fine with that.
Then we went to the Charleston Children's Museum!
Awesome

Thanks Pops for a fun trip!

rice, rice baby

Sorry, a little corny, i am blogging on 3 hours sleep.
Roe WAS the champion of the world sleeper for the first four months and i don't know if it's teeth coming in or not getting enough food but he has been getting up a lot in the night the past few weeks. I have been not very enthusiastic about introducing Roe to Solid foods but after MANY sleepless nights i figure it's worth a try.

"Ewwwww mom, what is this stuff?"

Kirb giving it a try

not so sure about food but working on warming up to the bottle.

6 months already!

Our little baby Roe is already 6 months, i just can't believe how time flies. He can sit and play for hours, he can go from laying down to the sitting position on his own, and HE CAN CRAWL! Yikes!

I was looking at Kirby's baby book and seeing how we are measuring up to our very active older brother, I told Gigi that Kirby had pulled up to standing on the side of his crib at 5 mo.!
So, last week guess what Roe-roe does....... just one month behind. But, please don't get the impression that we are trying to rush some of these things. I kinda want roe to stay down a little longer.

So.... i have become a vacuuming freak, I HATE DOG HAIR! That's my very nice way of saying, what you all know. Grrrrr....

Disney World

We decided to celebrate Ted's birthday by taking the kids to The Magic Kingdom.
Kirby didn't really know what to expect,
we left Wednesday morning.
After settling in our hotel and a little dip in the pool, we decided to go to Downtown Disney for a bite to eat, some adult beverages, and a little time with an old friend.
We got up bright and Early Thursday and headed to Disney!

waiting in line

After a late lunch we decided to go back to the hotel to rest.

But anyone who knows Kirby, knows there was no rest, so we headed to the pool for a little fun!

Then, according to our Disney schedule we all packed back into the car to head back for the fireworks!

Dosen't take a genius to guess what happened........... two sleepy babies,

but....... Kirby revived in no time and the adventure continued.

Kirby and his Disney souvenir, a gun from "Pirates of the Caribbean"

The fireworks were at 8 and there was a light parade at 7 so we re-figured our adventure to watch the light parade, beat the traffic and we watched the fireworks from our room in the hotel. What a wonderful few days vacation!
Thanks Dad, oh and Happy Birthday!
